You get a thundery watch hours ahead when thundery showers look likely, a building watch an hour or two before, and a storm heads-up the moment a storm is closing in. We don't republish National Weather Service watches or warnings — these are our own alerts, always framed as "likely" or "possible" rather than a guarantee.
