How accurate are the alerts?

Two very different answers. The 6-hour heads-up is probabilistic — it fires when the forecast for your exact spot shows a genuine risk of thunder. You may get a heads-up on days that stay dry, and we prefer that trade-off over missing a storm. The urgent alert fires only on real detected lightning (or a live nowcast cell heading your way). When you see the urgent one, a storm is genuinely closing in.

Will I get spammed every rainy day?

No. Rain, wind, and grey skies never trigger PawWarning — only conditions likely to produce thunder do. Quiet is the default. On a typical week most dog owners get zero alerts.

Does it work outside Ireland?

Partly. The 6-hour forecast heads-up works anywhere in the world. Live lightning detection currently covers Ireland and the UK — we're expanding it. Met Éireann warnings apply in Ireland only.

What happens after the free trial?

The live dashboard stays free — you can always check current conditions. Push alerts pause until you subscribe (€2.99/month or €24/year). You can subscribe any time from your account page.

Can I watch more than one location?

Today, one saved location per device — you can change your spot any time from Settings. Multiple saved locations (home, the in-laws, the field you walk in) are on the roadmap.

PawWarning works right in your browser today, and installs as a PWA on iOS and Android in one tap — it behaves like a native app once added to your home screen. Native app-store versions are planned.

What should I actually do when an alert arrives?

For the early heads-up: walk the dog now, set up the safe space, give any calming aids time to work. For the urgent one: bring them inside, close curtains, put on the radio or a familiar show, and stay near them — presence is the single biggest thing that helps.
